class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Metal-enhanced fluorescence<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c306571 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c306571\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>Metal Enhanced Fluorescence<\/b> (MEF) offers the possibility to increase the <b>analytical sensitivity<\/b> of fluorescence detection based <b>systems up to 100-fold<\/b>. This uses the fact that exciting light interacts with the electrons of nano-metal structures and can thus generate very high electromagnetic fields (localised surface plasmons, LSPs). This is why such structures are also referred to as &#8220;plasmonic structures&#8221; and the combination of (e.g. polymer) carrier and structure as a &#8220;plasmonic substrate&#8221;. In principle, the plasmonic structures developed can be used in <b>all analytical formats<\/b> (e.g. rapid tests, biosensors, microfluidic or lab-on-a-chip systems) where fluorescence is used. in which fluorescence is used.
